NBA Trade Rumors: Jason Thompson To Phoenix Suns? Arron Afflalo Also On Fans’ Radar! Will Phoenix Trade Future Assets For Playoff Push?

The NBA Trade Rumors persist for teams rushing for the playoffs. The Phoenix Suns are holding on to the precarious 8th place in the West and the OKC Thunder are aggressively chasing them. Would Jason Thompson and Arron Afflalo help?

The Suns missed the playoffs last season, but there were hardly any expectations back then, and they were actually the surprise team as they were predicted to finish as low as 29th. But the surprise is over and now they are fully expected to take the next step.

Unfortunately, the West is incredibly stacked and it's hard to imagine any of the top seven teams to slip. What's more discouraging is that the Oklahoma City Thunder is not one of those seven teams.

The fans seem worried. From Phoenix Suns fan blog Bright Side of the Sun, the fans suggested some players that management should target.

"Arron Afflalo - this guy would be a defensive upgrade over Gerald Green and can make a bunch of threes. He's not a microwave, but he's a nice all-around player who the Suns would be lucky to have."

They see him as a more stable alternative to Gerald Green who would also become an expensive commodity.

"Jason Thompson - Suns fans have liked this guy for years, but he never amounted to anything. Not likely he's traded, and not likely the Suns want him. But he CAN play both PF and C and rebounds well, though he has no offensive range and really doesn't defend that well."

It's a debate on who he should replace in the frontcourt rotation since Miles Plumlee, Alex Len and Markief Morris are playing well. In the playoffs, an extra big is always an asset especially with the loaded opposition.

Will the Suns listen to their fans' suggestions? Should they still fight for a playoff spot even if a trade will cost them future assets?
