Suge Knight Hit And Run News Update: Suge Knight was ambushed by gunmen before the Jan. 29 fatal hit-and-run accident, according to a video tape of security footage that his lawyer introduced.

David Kenner, an attorney for Marion "Suge" Knight said a video tape appears have caught the Knight being allegedly ambushed by gunmen before the former rap mogul hit two men with his truck, one fatally. Terry Carter died from his injuries The  footage could help Knight's defense against murder charges.

"I think the evidence ultimately will show that this was an ambush for the purpose of killing Mr. Knight, and that what he did was nothing more than trying to avoid being killed in that ambush," Kenner told the Associated Press.

Knight's lawyer told the AP that details about the accident have been one-sided and advises people to remain objective. The footage was first reported by TMZ. It was shot at a burger restaurant in Compton, Calif. According to TMZ, the security video allegedly shows Cle "Bone" Sloan and another person pointing guns at Knight.

Sloan's lawyer told the Daily News that his client did not have a gun during the hit-and-run and that the report is inaccurate.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department the existence of a video but has made no comment on what it shows.

There has been speculation that the fight started from how Knight is portrayed in the upcoming NWA Biopic "Straight Outta Compton."

Knight has remained in jail without bail since pleading not guilty to the hit-and-run and murder charges related to Sloan and Terry Carter.

Knight also appeared in court for a hearing about a robbery charge that claims Knight and comedian Katt Williams stole a camera from a paparazzi photographer. According to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, Knight was charged with threatening to kill or severely injure a photographer outside a Beverly Hills film and TV studio on Sept. 5, 2014.

The two artists pleaded not guilty. The robbery is alleged to have occurred last year.
