Why Is Arceus The Only Confirmed Pokemon For The 2015 Movie That's Not Available In Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire?

The latest Pokemon CoroCoro leaks revealed that additional legendary Pokemon will appear in the upcoming movie, "Arch Djinn of Rings—Hoopa." But, one particular legendary Pokemon is receiving some extra attention.

Recently, it was confirmed that in addition to Hoopa, other legendaries will appear in the upcoming movie including Lugia, Latias, Latios, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Regigigas, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem and Arceus. However, while this list of Pokemon is obtainable in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, one of them is not.

"Ho-oh is missing and Arceus is the only legendary that is not caught in [Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire]," commented Arranos on PokeJungle.

"Is it possible we'll see all of the legendaries of [Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire] in this? Will Deoxys also appear?"

One possible explanation for this could be that the Pokemon movie will coincide with a distribution event featuring Arceus to promote the movie, much like Diancie with last year's Pokemon movie.

Reportedly, this Arceus will be distributed when fans pre-book the movie tickets in Japan, and will come with the moves Judgment, Black Burn, Hydro Cannon and Earth Power. This legendary Pokemon will also hold the Silk Scarf or one of its plates.

According to Serebii, this distribution event will occur if fans pre-book tickets between March 7 to July 17 and will be redeemable immediately instantly until Aug. 31.

Meanwhile, fans have additional information on the mythical Pokemon, Hoopa.

"Hoopa is a Mythical Pokemon in the world of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire that cannot be encountered through regular gameplay," said the official Pokemon website. "The Pokemon is recognizable by its two horns and the golden ring that adorns its trunk. Hoopa's rings are said to have the power to bend dimensions and move objects across great distances."
