Original 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' Movie Cast Will Not Return In The Reboot! Are They Afraid Of the 'Ranger Curse?'

A reboot movie for the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" is definitely in the works.

And as fans patiently wait for the announcement of cast members, the original Green Ranger actor, Jason David Frank, shared some updates for the reboot casting.

Movie Pilot mentioned that in a Live interview with "Madison's 97 WKLO"

Radio show, the longest running character from "Mighty Morphin Power Ranger" series revealed that there will be no reunion of cast in the upcoming reboot.

However, he failed to mention if he has an idea as to who will replace them in Lionsgate's upcoming project.

It's been months since the giant studio company announced that they are working with a "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" reboot movie, however up until now, they have no official cast yet.

Fans begin to worry, thus speculations as to why there have been no cast lineup yet arise.

It has been previously reported that the possible cause for the difficulty in finding the right rangers may have been rooted from the infamous "rangers curse" surrounding the cast involved in the franchise.

Below is a list of unfortunate events experienced by the original Ranger members as mentioned by Yahoo Movies:

- Skylar Deleon, Roger in the original series episode, was convicted and sentenced to death in April 2009 for the murder of Long Beach residents Rom and Jackie Hawks.

- Eric Frank, the brother of Green Ranger, Jason Frank who appeared as David Trueheart in "Power Rangers Zeo" died from a heart illness in April 2011 at the age of 29.

- Richard Genelle, who's famous for portraying the role of Ernie, the advisor of the Power Rangers, died of a heart attack at the age of 47 in 2008.

- Bob Manahan, mentor of the Power Rangers named Zordon, also died of a heart attack in June 2000 at age 44.

 - Thuy Thang, the Yellow Ranger aka Trina Kwan, died from a fatal car accident in Sept. 2001 at age 27.

However, the original Blue Ranger, David Yost, vehemently denied such "curse" surrounding the "Power Rangers" franchise.

"I've never heard there's a curse," Yost explained to Yahoo. "But obviously anyone who's stepping into the role of a Power Ranger. I just hope that they realize how exciting that is and the impact they will have on many people's lives throughout the world and do their best to portray a good superhero."
