Amanda Knox's Murder Case Gets Dragged In Another Killing; Accused Couple Searches Internet About Raffale Sollecito's Ex

Amanda Knox got dragged into another murder case as the accused couple reportedly studied the trial of Raffaele Sollecito's ex.

According to the report from Express Star, suspects Lorenzo Simon and Michelle Bird had been searching for countries without extradition agreements with the UK, as well as how to apply for passports.

The couple was tagged in the death of Michael Spalding, whose dismembered body was thrown into a canal, on April 26.

"The couple had made internet searches which included Will Amanda Knox be returning to Italy? They also searched for breaking news on BBC websites," the prosecutor, Jonas Hankin, told the Birmingham Crown Court.

While the Amanda Knox murder case conviction appeal is still ongoing, the Seattle native got engaged to fiancé Colin Sutherland, according to The Seattle Times.

"Knox has sought to keep a low profile since returning, despite bouts of paparazzi stalking that yielded pictures of her and Sutherland, a lanky rock musician," it said. "Her engagement was disclosed by a source close to the family, and Knox confirmed it in an email, but declined to say anything else."

Barbie Latza Nadeau wrote for Daily Beast that while Amanda Knox is engaged to be married, it won't have any bearing to the extradition process.

"Italy and the US have a valid and tested extradition treaty, in which marital status has no role," she says. "If she were to be pregnant, however, that could make a difference, though no baby is known to be on the way."

The Amanda Knox murder case is in connection to the killing of her flat mate Meredith Kercher in their boarding house in Perugia, Italy. Her initial conviction was overturned in 2011 which allowed her to return to her hometown in Seattle.

However, the student and ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were re-convicted in 2014 after an appeal by the prosecutors.
