Amanda Knox Claims Innocence Pulled Her Through Murder Case Ordeal; Meredith Kercher's Roommate To Write A Book As She Travels To Italy?

Amanda Knox came out of the woodworks to pay tribute to Meredith Kercher after she was proclaimed innocent of the murder case, as the soon-to-be-married student plans on cashing out on her ordeal.

In a statement published on CNN, Amanda Knox said, "She was my friend ... she deserved so much better."

"The knowledge of my innocence has given me strength in the darkest times of this ordeal," the statement read. "And throughout this ordeal, I have received invaluable support from family, friends and strangers. To them, I say: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness has sustained me. I only wish that I could thank each and every one of you in person."

Amanda Knox's family, who hired a PR agency reportedly to bleach her fledgling image in the US amid the murder case, also issued a statement which read, "We want to express our profound gratitude to all of those who have supported Amanda and our family."

"Countless people -- from world-renowned DNA experts to former FBI agents to everyday citizens committed to justice -- have spoken about her innocence."

"We are thrilled with and grateful for today's decision from the Supreme Court of Italy. And we are grateful beyond measure for all that so many of you have done for her," it added.

Meanwhile, Amanda Knox is reportedly planning to cash in on her ordeal in the Meredith Kercher murder case.

Daily Mail reported that Amanda Knox will go back to Italy following her acquittal.

"Both Knox and Sollecito are reportedly planning to seek compensation for time wrongly spent in prison," it said. "While no figures have been revealed, compensation for such cases regularly run into seven figure sums."

Reports said that Amanda Knox was paid $4 million for her 2013 book "Waiting to be Heard," which revolved around her murder case trial.

The Telegraph also reported that Amanda Knox will seek compensation following her acquittal from murder case.

"Carlo Dalla Vedova, one of Miss Knox's defense lawyers, confirmed that the family would 'be seeking compensation for wrongful imprisonment,'" the report said.
