'Persona 5' Release Date Set In Spring 2015 By Atlus; Everything You Need To Know About The Gameplay And Plot

Arguably one of the most anticipated JRPGs to come out in the PS3 and PS4, "Persona 5" is expected to bring more to the table compared to previous installments as it hits stores in Spring 2015. So far, here are the latest gameplay and plot updates revealed by Atlus.

Gematsu reported that "Persona 5" will revolve in Shibuya as seen on the teaser. It is written in kanji and can be seen in the subway station scene. "Persona 5" intends to give gamers the open world experience while it remains faithful to the normal means of living in Japan such as riding in a train, walking in crowded streets, and enjoying night parties.

Gematsu also gave a brief introduction about the protagonist. According to the website, he gained his "Persona Arsene" after "a certain incident unfolds and confronts a great darkness enveloping the city." It was also revealed that he is a high school student studying at Shujin Academy, and he will encounter a cat like creature that can transform into a human being.

A new gameplay feature for "Persona 5" is also explained by Gematsu which will be called "Awakening". The Awakening is assumed as a power-up for character's Persona which will cover them in blue flames and can be seen in the trailer.

Game director Katsura Hashino shared his thoughts about "Persona 5" via Venture Capital Post.

"One of the goals in making 'Persona 5', then, is to give those people an outlet to explore those thrills and experience that sense of freedom that the protagonists themselves have within the context of a game. Although that being said, I won't deny that a lot of us were also just way into stories about good-natured thieves like Lupin III growing up, too," Hashino said.

As for the game's release date, Crossmaps reported that "Persona 5" release date will be on Spring 2015 for both PS3 and PS4 consoles. Moreover, fans can expect more announcements from Atlus at E3 2015 as per Product Review.net.
