“Charlie Bit My Finger” is one of the most viewed viral YouTube videos with over 8 million views and counting.

The stars of the video, Charlie and Harry, have grown up, but still don’t understand how their video has gotten so popular among YouTube users.

Charlie is now 9-years-old while Harry is 11 and both have described the explosive popularity of their video “a bit odd.”

“It makes me laugh,” Harry stated.

Charlie and Harry’s dad, Howard, had uploaded the video back in 2007 so the boys’ godfather in America could watch the clip as it was too big to send via email, according to the U.K’s The Metro.

When asked by Newsround’s Ricky Boleto whether the popularity of the video was embarrassing, the boys both answered, “No.”

The boys’ parents have reportedly made “thousands of pounds” off advertising on the video and sponsorship deals. The two YouTube stars have reportedly even appeared in advertisements.

Although the video was uploaded nearly 8 years ago, it is still garnering views and shares among social media users.

“I CAN believe this has so many views. It went viral!” wrote YouTube user Modekes Modekes.

“All the celebrities were mimicking it, it was on talk shows and even short films were made in its honor. I’m glad it was this cute little video that got so much attention and not some crazy one with a horrible message.”
