E.L. James Gets Beating Of Severe Questions on Twitter Chat, Reveals Another New Book Coming?

The Twitterverse got fired up on Monday as "Fifty Shades of Gray" author E.L. James took time to have a live chat with her followers.

Using the hashtag #AskELJAmes, the E.L. James Twitter chat started smoothly and innocently, according to Time. There were some who asked about the book's musical inspiration and chapters that were easy or hard to write for the author. Later on though the situation changed and E.L. James faced tough questions on Twitter about her book series.

"I need advice on making a BIG romantic gesture," Liam Dryden asked,

"Should I put a GPS tracker in her phone and make threats if she tries to leave?" he added.

"Are you as homophobic in real life as your books are? Asking for a friend," Jenny Trout posted.

"How long do you intend to block, ignore and silence people with legitimate concerns that you're romanticizing abuse?" the account 50 Shades is Abuse asked.

Some users also asked and criticized E.L. James' writing during the Twitter chat, according to The Guardian. Some of those who asked about the abuse theme of the book and E.L. James' writing were ignored.

E.L. James though purportedly was happy to entertain other questions on Twitter including changing a fact about Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele's story. The author said she would have wanted to split them up longer.

James also revealed that during the Twitter chat that she has new books coming.

"I've written a new book and am halfway through another," she revealed. "Both romances. Not sure when I will finish them."

Regardless of the backfire in the E.L. James Twitter chat, The Independent reported that the author seemed to have had a good time doing it.

"Off to meet the competition winners, now," she posted on Twitter.

"Thanks so much for an interesting hour," E.L. James added despite the severe questions hurled at her during the Twitter chat.
