As soon as WINNER's Mino (Song Minho) took on Mnet's Show Me the Money 4 stage he has faced nonstop comparison to last year's winner Bobby from iKON.

The comparison comes as no surprise since both Mino and Bobby work under YG Entertainment. Moreover, the two were previously pitted against each other during YG's survival program WIN: Who Is Next, with Mino on Team A and Bobby on Team B.

Mino's appearance began only in episode 2 of Show Me the Money 4 but his impressive rap abilities quickly turned him into a hot topic amongst contestants and fans. Even the show's judges expressed their interest in Mino as Jay Park asked preemptively if he and Loco could appeal to Mino and have him join team AOMG before his round two audition.

Mino is also placed in a precarious position for the show as he breaks the stereotype of most 'idol-rappers' whom many assume can only rap lines they are given by others instead of writing their own works and establishing their own voices.

Still, despite Mino's remarkable abilities and the recognition he's earned from the producers and other contestants, he cannot get away from the mention of Bobby.

Show Me the Money's producer and director Lee Sang Yoon recently touched on the comparisons between the two rappers. "Mino and Bobby have very different charm and charisma. Mino shows a brand new appearances, like an onion with each layer being removed. Every episode we see a new side of him, not as an idol but as a rapper," Lee said according to XSports News.

"All the producers and writers of the show are eager to see all of Mino's abilities as a contestant and rapper, and not a member of WINNER," Lee continued. Fans of the show and of WINNER are eager to see what Mino can display as well.
