In the Korean music industry, the genre commonly called "Indie" is becoming a blur. Lately, the keyword "Indie" has become a trend on TV and in the music industry as underground indie musicians release songs in collaboration with idol stars or make more frequent TV show appearances.

The collaboration work is a "win-win situation" for both the underground indie musican and the idol singer. For the indie musicans, it provides them an opportunity to make their name known to the public; and for the idol singers it provides them an opportunity to express their music in a new light.

On February 27, Woohyun from the group Infinite released "Cactus" with Lucia, a indie musician signed under the Pastel Music label. "Cactus" which was originally Epitone Project's song and was remade for Woohyun and Lucia for their album "Re;code Episode II".

2AM unveiled a preview video on Big Hit Entertainment's Youtube site with Kwon Sungwan of No Reply, Yiruma, and Epitone Project, who participated in the making of their new album "One Spring" which is to be released on February 28.

BoA and The Quiet who is signed under the Linare Record label released an electronic pop style song "Lookin" for the collaborative work between SM Entertainment and Hyundai as the theme song for a car in the "PYL Unique Album Volume 1 with SM Entertainment." Jessica of Girls Generation also took part in the album. She released a song called "My Life Style" with Ax who is signed under Linare Record.

Prior to Woohyun and Lucia's "re;code Episode II", hip hop duo Giggs and Sistar's Soyu released "re;code Episode I" with the song "Officially Missing You, too" last November and received a lot of love from fans.

Last November, Lee Seung Gi released his 5.5 mini album "Forest" with Epitone Project. The album's title song "Revert" which ranked #1 on various music charts was written and composed by Epitone Project.

Hip Hop producer Primary collaborated with various artists including Park Jaebum, GO of MBLAQ, Dynamic Duo, and Zion Tea in his first album "Primary and the Messengers LP" and the songs ranked high in various music charts. Hereafter, Primary also participated in the making of K-Will and Infinite H's albums.
