'Show Me the Money 4' Continues To Cause Controversy With Jay Park Enraged, Filming Halted For Several Hours

After last week's lyrics controversy, Mnet's Show Me the Money 4 seems to have run into a series of new problems.

On July 17, celebrity judge Jay Park expressed his anger towards the program for their editing on his personal Twitter. "So this is how they edit. Not showing any of our rapping. Wow. Okay," read Jay Park's first tweet. "How can a 'rap,' 'hip-hop' program edit out just us? This is too much. What's with LOCO's performance being completely edited out..."

After the contestant mission on episode four, the producer-judge teams (Tablo and Jinusean, Zico and Paloalto, Verbal Jint and San-E, and Jay Park and LOCO) took to the stage for their own fun performances. Prior to the edited out performance, Jay Park can be seen boasting about his label AOMG. "We will show you why we are in this position. We will show you what AOMG means," he says before the cut out piece.

According to DongA, Mnet released a response to Jay Park's tweets stating that they had to edit due to limited show time but promising to release his and LOCO's performance later. Although the Daily News reported the next day that Mnet and Jay Park resolved their issues, the problems with Show Me the Money 4 did not stop there.

In a report by Yonap News, it was revealed that the July 11 filming of Show Me the Money 4 was suspended for three to four hours while the production and judge teams conducted an emergency meeting. Contestant Black Nut's performance prompted the suspension as the show's crew discussed the lyrics of his extremely suggestive rap. Additionally, it seems as though he included a physical performance with a blow-up doll.

Some music industry insiders at the show's set questioned the necessity of vulgar lyrics, especially considering how controversial the show has been with only four episodes aired thus far. Others, however, claimed that Black Nut's performance is important and states that it will likely be aired in some way.

Despite the show's controversies, fans can continue to catch Show Me the Money 4 on Friday nights at 11PM KST.
