Rory McIlroy Doesn’t Care About Ranking Or Jordan Spieth Rivalry Because Of Girlfriend Erica Stoll?

Rory McIlroy doesn’t care about the fact that his ranking may slip down to world number 2 because of Jordan Spieth rivalry. With a steadfast girlfriend Erica Stoll by her side, no wonder Rory McIlroy has a zen attitude towards his career and his ranking!

While the world number 1 will soon have to give up his coveted world number 1 ranking to his rival Jordan Spieth following the Deutsche Bank Championship, Rory McIlroy isn’t feeling flustered at all.

According to Golfmagic, the world number 1 said, "It's a mathematical system with algorithms and all sorts of different things," McIlroy said. "I think everyone knows who the best player in the world is right now just based on current form, but it is what it is. It's not something I really worry about."

In fact, he may be investing a lot in his relationship with his girlfriend Erica Stoll. Not only did he bust his ankle playing a soccer game on fourth of July, he also may be using this “long-term” healing process to spend time with Erica Stoll.

According to Irish Times, “Rory McIlroy is recovering well from the ankle injury which has prevented him from defending his Open title this week, although no date has been set for his return.”

Since he has been saying that he is “very happy in love life” with his girlfriend Erica Stoll, it’s no wonder that his view towards Jordan Spieth rivalry or his ranking is more positive than ever.

According to the Australian, Rory McIlroy gushed about how fantastic his love life is now after his breakup with Caroline Wozniacki.

“I am very happy in my love life,” he said. “We haven’t really been putting it out there. She is from America, which is why I like to spend time in Palm Beach… The past six or seven months have been really nice. That part of my life is going great.”

Good thing that he has his girlfriend Erica Stoll to keep him grounded.
