Comedian Hong Yoon Hwa Apologizes For 'Thoughtless Behavior' In Touching EXO's Suho

A K-pop idol received an apology following the allegedly controversial behavior of a comedian during a filming of SBS's "Star King."

South Korean comedian Hong Yoon Hwa apologized on Monday for touching EXO's Suho. Following the filming, fans took to social media to express their anger towards Hong's thoughtless action, prompting the apology.

Hong titled the apology, "To EXO Suho's Fans."

"I first want to sincerely apologize to Suho and his fans for my thoughtless behavior," Hong wrote, reports the K-Pop Herald.

"In retrospect, I think I unconsciously touched his thigh in reaction to another host's words," said Hong. "I apologize for my behavior if it was uncomfortable to see. I'll be more cautious in the future."

Hong also wrote that she and the EXO member had previously planned to interact physically throughout the filming with hugs and touching his arm, but her reaction to another comedian's words led to her touching Suho in an unplanned way.

The comedian added that she was writing directly in reference to the posts made by EXO's fans.

EXO's fans, known collectively as EXO-L, have a history of passionately protecting the members of EXO.

During an episode of "King of Mask Singer" that featured EXO's Chen, several comedians commented that they would be careful regarding their words so as to avoid the anger of EXO's fans.

The new season of "Star King" is set to air during the Korean holiday of Chuseok, which begins on Sept. 27.
