'Dance Moms' Star Abby Lee Miller Faces Jail Time; Indicted For Fraud

Abby Lee Miller has been mulling to leave "Dance Moms" reportedly because of contractual issues. Now, it might not even her choice.

The dance instructor was indicted by a grand jury in a federal court on 20 counts of bankruptcy fraud as well as "concealment of bankruptcy assets and false bankruptcy declarations."

"Miller filed a petition with the court back in 2010 for the reorganization of her dance studio, but allegedly created a secret bank account in order to conceal her income after the filing," said Radar Online.

"Local news station WPXI reports that the indictment alleges Miller hid income totaling $755,000 earned from her reality show, merchandise sales, and dances sessions between 2012 and 2013," it said.

If convicted, Abby Lee Miller might have to leave "Dance Moms" as she will have to spend five years in prison along with the "$250,000 fine for each of the 20 counts of the indictment."

The dance instructor has always been vocal about the creative differences between her and the producers of "Dance Moms." Then there's the allegation that the network has been a little behind with their payments.

In previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said Lifetime Network "is a little arrears on their payment plan with me."

She hinted that the second half of "Dance Moms" season 5 would have a lot of episodes where Abby Lee Miller is not featured.

Abby Lee Miller explained, "There was an altercation at one of the competitions. The producer threw me out! So I left and I didn't come back... There's about one [episode] that I just wasn't there [for]. And I thought, 'You know what? If they can do it without me, do it without me.'"

But with her indictment on bankruptcy fraud and the ensuing controversy it generated, the network might not give Abby Lee Miller the chance to quit the show as they can drop her from "Dance Moms."
