"Nashville" star Hayden Panettiere has asked for privacy as she went into rehab to treat her post-partum depression.

Her rep said in a statement, published on Radar Online, "Hayden Panettiere is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression. She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time."

The "Nashville" star gave birth to baby Kaya with her partner Wladimir Klitschko in December last year.

Hayden Panettiere previously talked about her post-partum depression during a guesting at "Live! With Kelly and Michael" last month.

"It's something a lot of women experience," she said. "When [you're told] about postpartum depression you think it's 'I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.' I've never, ever had those feelings."

She went on to add, "Some women do. But you don't realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It's something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they're not alone, and that it does heal."

Her partner, Wladimir Klitschko, has yet to issue a statement regarding Hayden Panettiere's post-partum depression.

Hayden Panettiere shared an Instagram post by Mummy Fashion Blogger which read, "Support goes out to #HaydenPanettiere for her suffering of postpartum depression. It's real.. good on her for seeking help. Being a mum is life changing. The biggest thing I didn't realise was how important support is. My advice to any new mum is make sure you have a good support base and group of mums. Although you can't help these things sometimes, it just happens. #seekhelp #support #mumlife."

On Oct. 10, Hayden Panettiere tweeted, "Feeling like I'm #finally coming back in to my own body!mother #daughter #blessing #wellworthit @bonesthenskin."

One fan wrote, "Glad you're healthy .I've experienced Postpartum Depression & it was one of the hardest times in my life."

Another said, "You look absolutely wonderful Hayden. You always has (sic) been, you always will."
