According to Anime News Network, a new "Puzzle and Dragons" 3DS game is now in the works. Set for release some time in 2016, the new game will be entitled "Puzzle and Dragons X." The initial design for the main character Ace is available to view here.

In addition to a new "Puzzle and Dragons" 3DS game, it was also announced that "Puzzle and Dragons Z" will be getting a manga adaptation by Momota Inoue. The manga is slated for release some time in the spring of 2016.

"Puzzle and Dragons" is an extremely popular mobile game created by Gungho Online Entertainment. Polygon reports that the series made $113 million in sales during the month of April 2013, just one year after the game was first released.

"Puzzle and Dragons" has since yielded a special "Angry Birds" area and a 3DS "Super Mario Bros." edition that was released earlier this year, likely extending its popularity further
