Marvel's 'Doctor Strange' Movie Wraps Up In Nepal; Moves Shooting To United Kingdom

Marvel's upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie moves production to the United Kingdom.

Principal photography for the Phase 3 film commenced in Nepal this month, primarily for outdoor scenes. This led to many set photos leaking online, which also gave the public their first look at lead star Benedict Cumberbatch (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Imitation Game) as the Sorcerer Supreme.

Now, Screen Daily reports that the leaked filming photos of filming are coming to a halt as production has moved indoors to the Longcross Film Studios in the United Kingdom.

Previous films that have been shot at the studio include "Guardians of The Galaxy," "Thor: The Dark World," "Captain Philips," World War Z" and "Fast and Furious 6."

The film will focus on Stephen Strange, a successful but arrogant neurosurgeon damages his hand in a car accident, rendering them unusable for surgery.

Strange, who is wealthy like Tony Stark, uses all his money in trying to find a cure for his condition. He travels to Nepal and comes across The Ancient One, who trains him and gives him mystical powers to defend Earth from sinister forces.

"Doctor Strange," who debuted in the Marvel Universe over 50 years ago, was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

The movie marks phase 3's newest franchise and will introduce the mystic and supernatural to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Along with Cumberbatch, the film will feature Chiwitel Ejiofor (Inside Man, Four Brothers) as Baron Mordo, Daniel Bruhl (Inglorious Basterds, Rush) as Baron Zemo, Tilda Swinton (Snowpiercer, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) as The Ancient One, Rachel McAdams (True Detective Season 2) and Juliet Rylance (Sinister) in as yet undisclosed roles.

The movie is produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Scott Derrickson from a screenplay byJon Spaihts.

Marvel has given "Doctor Strange" an official Nov. 4, 2016 release date.
