With the premiere of "Digimon Adventure Tri," many fans are curious over the revelation of Joe Kido's alleged girlfriend. But who could it be?

One possibility is based on the Digimon drama CD titled "Armor Evolution to the Unknown." According to the Digimon Wiki, Joe is seen dating Yolei's sister Chizuru in 2003.

"If Joe was dating Yolei's sister, you would think Yolei would have found out and told someone," commented reddit user Shinmazinkaiser.

If the drama CD is not canon, then, another popular theory is that the girlfriend in question could in fact be Meiko Michizuki, the new DigiDestined introduced in "Digimon Adventure Tri."

"Joe was the only DigiDestined not shown interacting with her," pointed out Reluxtrue.

Based on the PVs released so far, it is believed the Joe and Meiko may hold a special connection, and will be interacting in upcoming films of the "Digimon Adventure Tri" series.

"Because the place where Joe was standing looked so familiar, I decided to search for the place and I found it," wrote Untitled Forever on Tumblr. Yeah, it's the place where the mysterious girl is standing with her Digimon. So there is a possibility that Joe is talking to her."

The "Digimon Adventure Tri" six-part film series is a sequel to the original 1999 "Digimon Adventure" anime series. The new films were created in celebration of the 15-year anniversary since the original anime series premiere.

According to Anime News Network, the second film of the "Digimon Adventure Tri" series, titled "Determination" will be released on March 12.
