Patrick Dempsey may be giving up his love of racing for the love of wife Jillian Fink and their marriage. The former "Grey's Anatomy" actor has reportedly been given an ultimatum by his makeup artist wife.

In an item on Radar Online, an insider claimed that the former Derek Shepherd actor was given another shot at their relationship in exchange for one thing - that he makes his family his priority. In order for this to happen, the makeup artist apparently wanted him to be closer to home and stop travelling constantly for racing events.

"She's scarred by the damage that was caused when he went away to racing conventions and competitions for weeks and sometimes even months on end," the source pointed out.

Though Patrick Dempsey has been vocal about his love for racing, it seemingly appeared that his love for his wife Jillian Fink and their marriage was more important that everything else and he's willing to compromise this time.

"He's willing to do what it takes, because living without Jillian has been hell and he's terrified of losing her again," the source also said.

Neither of the couple nor their reps have addressed the rumor. But in an interview with Jetset Magazine, the former "Grey's Anatomy" star mentioned that it was his makeup artist wife that encouraged him to get into racing years ago.

"I've always been a fan of racing, ever since I was a kid," the Derek Shepherd actor revealed. "My dad was a big fan, and we used to watch he Indy 500, Daytona, F1, all of that stuff. That was great, because [Speed Channel] used to show all of the old races, all of the live races. And my wife just got tired of me being a couch potato on Sunday, watching all of these races. So she said, 'Why don't you get out there and go do the Skip Barber program?'"

Just last June, the former "Grey's Anatomy" actor scored a place in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as told by USA Today.

The former "Grey's Anatomy" actor's wife filed for divorce just last January "citing irreconcilable differences" as reported by Us Weekly. But just 10 months later, the estranged couple were apparently back in each other's arms after being spotted walking hand-in-hand in Paris a few weeks ago.

According to People magazine, Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink have given their relationship and maybe marriage another chance but it was still not clear if they officially retracted their divorce case.
