The Far Eastern University Tamaraws took home game 1 of their best of three series against the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers, 75-64 which was held at the Mall of Asia Arena last Wednesday. According to FEU head coach Nash Racela, it was their defense that helped them win the ball game.

"I think it was because of our defense," said head coach Nash Racela. "We had some lapses at the start so they (UST) were able to get some momentum but once we did things correctly, we got our timing.

Meanwhile, UST will do their best to bounce back and they would need all the help they can get especially the scoring prowess of guard Ed Daquioag, who was the missing link in game 1.
