New WINNER Album Expected In Early 2016

The long wait for WINNER fans may be drawing to a close.

YG Entertainment founder and chief Yang Hyun Suk sat down for an interview with Daily Sports and discussed various topics of interest to fans of his label's artists, including Big Bang, the recent Mnet Asian Music Awards, and the company's future plans.

For the final interview question, Yang was asked, "Would you mind telling us which album you are working on next?"

"Of course it's WINNER," he responded. "The album has already been completed."

"I apologize to fans, but having WINNER release such a long-awaited album at the end of the year is not the right choice," Yang stated. "There are a lot of award ceremonies and the atmosphere very busy. Moreover, Psy just had his comeback."

"I was intentionally avoiding releasing the album in December," Yang conceded, but promised one thing. "WINNER fans will really enjoy this album."

"After WINNER's album release, we are planning comebacks for Akdong Musician, Lee Hi, Katie Kim, and others," Yang concluded. He ended the interview by stating, "We will work hard to do our best in 2016 as well."

It appears like YG is waiting until next year to avoid the fierce end-of-year competition and give WINNER a higher chance of winning awards on music shows.
