Rory McIlroy hasn't jumped ship on Erica Stoll yet! But he did lose in Abu Dhabi to Rickie Fowler. Looks like his joy from engagement isn't translating directly into his game.

According to SBNation, "[Rickie] Fowler finished a Sunday sprint at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship one shot clear of Thomas Pieters and with Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson all not far behind. With all four of those heavy hitters posting top-five results, the event certainly got its appearance fees' worth."

While Rory McIlroy wasn't far behind Rickie Fowler, this loss means that he needs to step up his game before the wedding to Erica Stoll!

After he basically left his previous fiancee Caroline Wozniacki at the alter, Rory McIlroy is treating Erica Stoll as nicely as he could. They spent the New Years Eve 2015 in a castle!

According to Irish Independent, "Rory McIlroy and new fiancee Erica Stoll are believed to be spending New Year's Eve at the five-star Ashford Castle in Mayo. The top golfer was spotted on a luxury break with his new fiancee Erica Stoll."

Other than that, Rory McIlroy has also been pouring praises on his girlfriend. He admitted that she has been a "great influence" on him and said, "I know you've seen Erica around tournaments a lot, but we really have tried to keep it low key. She is a low-key person, but she brings a level of normality to everything."

The Irish golfer also uploaded a picture of champagne on his Instagram and captioned it, "We hope you make 2016 the best year ever!! Happy New Year everyone"

But time will tell whether Rory McIlroy will also cancel engagement with Erica Stoll.

But knowing he "shelled out £433,000" on her engagement ring, according to Belfast Telegraph, he probably will be discouraged to run away this time.
