Get That K-Pop Look: Ladies' Code's Grown-Up 'Galaxy' Style

By Rachelle D. | March 10, 2016 09:42 AM EST

Welcome to this week's Get That K-pop Look, where we showcase an original K-Pop outfit and give you tips on putting together your own similarly styled, affordable outfit.

Girls Code is back in action for the first time since tragedy struck the group, and their sound and look is noticeably (and understandably) more somber and mature.  Their new video for Galaxy features outfits that weren't made for innocent little girls. Instead, the women don smart, refined looks that pack a whole lot of sophistication but aren't at all stuffy. Want in on this grown-up look? Keep reading.

White Tied Front Keyhole Detail Button Front Shirt Dress, $20.90 from Choies

There's a reason the shirt dress has been a closet staple for decades. This style is an instant classic. It's the perfect combination of fitted and twirly, and is that perfect item that can be worn countless ways - alone, with leggings and booties, or with a blazer and stilettos.

Girls Code shows here how something as simple as a black tie scarf can add so much character to an outfit. It's super sleek, gives a feminine touch to a classic menswear look, and turns a relatively ordinary shirt dress into something you don't see every day.

I Glam Hardly Believe It Jacket, $54.99 from ModCloth

There's no reason not to love a statement jacket like this navy military one. The fitted style is flattering on several different body types, and it's far more interesting than that tattered fleece you're probably throwing on over everything.

Style & Co. Solie Pull-On Culotte Pants, $27.99 from Macy's

Culotte pants are usually worn one of two ways: either to lounge around in with a t-shirt, or a nicer, pleated pair with a modern suit. Those styles are great, but thank you, Girls Code, for coming up with an innovative way to style these short pants. Whooshing underneath a shirt dress, they give the outfit a sophisticated play on menswear that is anything but masculine.

DENNY Heeled Sandal, $48 from Topshop

This is an excellent modern twist on a retro style to cap off this outfit. It's also the perfect chunky heel to welcome the summertime. It's fresh, easy to bop around in, and would look great with anything from jean cutoffs to a silky summer jumpsuit.
