‘Yona Of the Dawn’ Gets 2 New OVAs: Airing Of Season 2 Not Yet Confirmed

The fans of the Japanese manga series ''Yona of the Dawn'' were happy to hear that the season 2 will be released on TV in the summer of 2016.

''The popularity of the magazine series converted this into nineteen tankobon volumes and further an anime television series too was created. The Japanese animation studio, Pierrot Co., Ltd converted these volumes into an anime television series which was first aired between Oct. 7, 2014 and Mar. 24, 2015 at AT-X'' reported an article of YHM.

Season 1 contained 24 episodes and the TV anime series were very popular in Japan and the US. In Japanese, this manga series is also known as ''Akatsuki no Yona: Yona of the Dawn'' or ''Akatsuki no Yona -The girl standing in the blush of dawn.''

As per the last news on, officially 6685 people had subscribed to the updates about this show. However, as per today's update, the number is 7848. In reality the Facebook, Twitter and many other forums show that the season 2 is eagerly awaited by many fans.

Since Funimation had streamed this series in North America, they too are waiting for the makers to renew the series. They had the license for streaming and home video rights in North America. The first season aired 24 episodes. ''Fresh off the Japanese publication of the 20th volume of Yona of the Dawn, a fantasy shōjo manga by Mizuho Kusanagi, Hakusensha has announced that the publication of the 21st and 22nd volumes of the manga will include special, limited edition versions featuring original anime DVDs adapting the Zeno Arc storyline. These Japanese Manga volumes will be released in Aug and Dec. 2016, however there are no updates about the Anime series yet. However, Animenews network talked about the OVA (original video animation) for these 2 new volumes too. ''The two anime episodes will completely cover the Zeno Arc, which tells the backstory of the character Zeno. The announcement also revealed that Kazuhiro Yoneda will return to direct the two-part OVA at Studio Pierrot. The OVA's cast is as follows'' confirmed the article.

The US based fans are waiting for the English dubbed versions of these OVAs. Also the season 2 should be aired soon before the enthusiasm for this anime series dies down amidst scores of other anime shows.
