EXO Chanyeol, Far East Movement Collaboration Finally Confirmed; EXO Member Featured In Hip Hop Group's New Album
For weeks, rumors about a collaboration between EXO's Park Chanyeol and the American hip hop group Far East Movement have spread like wildfire online. And adding more fuel to the fire, Chanyeol even teased the public with a picture of him hanging out with the said American group on his official Instagram account. His post garnered lots of attention and excitement.
Now a few days ago, Far East Movement has confirmed the authenticity of the rumors in a post on their own official IG account. The group revealed that they have been working with Chanyeol on a song called Freal Luv that will be included on their upcoming album IDENTITY.
The collaboration was also earlier confirmed by SM Entertainment, EXO's home record label and talent agency, on September 21. The album is set to be released on October 21 while the single featuring Chanyeol will be dropped on October 14.
Far East Movement are most notably known for their singles Rocketeer and Like a G6 with the latter hitting number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and on iTunes. They are the first ever Asian-American group to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Their upcoming album would also feature artists like Marshmello and Tinashe.
While the fans are mostly happy for Chanyeol and the multitudes of opportunities that may come out of this collaboration, his involvement with the hip hop-EDM foursome had also further increased the rumors of Korean-Chinese band EXO's disbandment.
Fans have long feared that the group will be disbanding soon seeing as most of its members are now focusing on individual projects. EXO member Do Kyung-soo is rumored to leave the band soon after not being seen with the band after their successful concerts in Japan. Unfortunately, SM Entertainment is still mum about this issue.
Aside from the collaboration with Far East Movement, EXO Chanyeol will also be a part of the upcoming MBC series, Missing 9.
