Kim Ok Bin to be Joined by Shin Ha Kyun and Sung Joon in New Action Thriller Film 'Evil Woman'

The upcoming action thriller film, Evil Woman has already secured actress Kim Ok Bin of the TV series Yoo-na's Street to play the lead role but now, they have also added two new additional names to their cast. It has been reported that actors Shin Ha Kyun, of the popular medical drama Brain and the action film Running Man, and Sung Joon of SBS' High Society are joining Kim Ok Bin in the film. Evil Woman, somewhat reminiscent of La Femme Nikita, revolves around an assassin or killer whose secrets are slowly unraveled.

In this film, Kim Ok Bin will be playing the role of an assassin that hails from the province of Yanbian in China who dreams of living a completely normal life. Following that dream, she comes to Korea and does her best to bury her past life but unfortunately, her past just won't stay buried. On the other hand, Shin Ha Kyun plays the role of her mentor, the one who taught her how to kill. This is the third time Ok Bin will be working with Ha Kyun as they already have worked together in films like Thirst and Front Line.

While both Kim Ok Bin and Shin Ha Kyun are film veterans, Sung Joon rise to fame was mostly because of his involvement with mini drama series like Discovery of Romance and I Need Romance 3. Though he has had film roles before, Evil Woman may just give him the push he needs to attain movie stardom status. In this film, Sung Joon will portray a supporting role of a man who observes every move Kim Ok Bin makes.

Aside from the two actors, the new action-thriller film had also changed its director. Instead of Hong Ki Seon, Jung Byung-gil, the man behind the award-winning suspense film Confession of Murder, will now be directing the film. Evil Woman has already started filming and would go on for a few more months before a 2017 release.
