2016 has been the year of Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum. In the first half of the year, Song Joong Ki was the no. 1 trending actor which he owed to the success of the hit TV series "The Descendants of the Sun" while Park Bo Gum dominated the second half of the year.

The two actors come from the same label, Blossom Entertainment, both are ridiculously handsome and talented actors and with so many similarities, it's kind of hard not to compare the two. It also doesn't help that both of their TV shows were quite a success not only in South Korea but internationally as well.

In a report by Allkpop, the 23-year old "Love in the Moonlight" actor sat down with Ilgan Sports for an interview and one of the key topics they discussed was the constant comparison between the two actors.

"I am just very grateful for receiving such tremendous love and support from the people and every time I hear people comparing me with Song Joong Ki, I feel more motivated to do better. In a way, it makes me feel like I need to act and live more honestly and smartly" Park Bo Gum says as he addressed the comparison issue.

Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum had earlier starred in a number of advertisements for Domino's Pizza. The young actor has been known for his kindness and humility so it's not at all surprising when he modestly says: "Personally, I think can do much more. Given the chance, I'd redo everything again so that I can fix the parts that I think needs fixing so it'll be better."

Park Bo Gum shares how he is thankful to Song for the advice he had earlier given to him saying: "In the beginning, I didn't have any confidence and I oftentimes felt lost in my own acting. However, whenever I would feel that way, I would just pray. I also turned to Joong Ki hyung for some advice and what he told me was that I need to trust myself more so I can do my best. We often hang out together to eat and Joong Ki hyung was always so supportive."

According to Soompi, the two are known to be quite good friends with Song Joong Ki, along with his Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Hye Kyo, going so far as to send a coffee truck to Park Bo Gum on the set of Love in the Moonlight.

Song Joong Ki had also once expressed during the 2016 Seoul Drama Awards how he would love to work with Park Bo Gum someday, hopefully in the near future.
