TIME Hails 2NE1's CL as Future of K-Pop in the US as French Artists Create Stunning Artwork of Her

It is no secret that the infamous leader of the iconic k-pop girl band 2NE1, CL, has set her sights on the US mainstream market. Being one of the biggest stars in the whole of Asia, it is understandable as to why CL would want to further her colorful music career by breaking into the US music industry. Not to mention the fact that her band 2NE1 had already gained quite a following there after being noticed for their unique and expressive music and daring outfits.

However, while CL is a formidable diva in her own right, there is still that fact that no other k-pop artist had successfully broken into the US market and actually maintained a steady career there. Yes, fellow YG artist Psy had indeed topped the Billboard charts with his iconic single 'Gangnam Style' and has managed to slip in a few other singles there as well but still, people are yet to hear from the Korean singer.

If CL plays her cards right, then she might in fact be the first Korean star to break into and maintain a prosperous career in the US. She's already made a good start by teaming up with Scooter Braun who manages the likes of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. TIME magazine had already been eyeing her as the future of k-pop in America and they've even published an article about it.

Just recently, CL had finally cemented her status as a solo artist with her successful concert in New York City, as reported by Billboard. There, she sang a number of 2NE1's hits as an ode to her girl group before introducing her fans to her solo songs which would include 'The Baddest Female', 'Hello Bitches' and her latest all-English single 'Lifted' all while giving a quick shout out to fellow 2NE1 member Dara who was supporting her in the crowd.

Truly, CL whose real name is Lee Chae-rin may well be on her way to US stardom. In a report made by Allkpop, a pair of renowned French artists who go by Pierre et Gilles had recently created a stunning masterpiece of the singer-rapper and had shared it on their shared Instagram account. It has been revealed that both CL and the French artists are a big fan of each other and she had even introduced them to BIGBANG's T.O.P., another art enthusiast.

There is no saying what the future holds, but with the way CL is going, it is definitely not hard to see that she is meant for international stardom.
