'Cheer Up' Becomes TWICE's Second MV to Reach Over 100 Million Views! Group Wins Big at Asia Artist Awards

It's only been a year after JYP Entertainment first launched the k-pop girl group TWICE but in that short period, the group has proven that they have what it takes to dominate the k-pop industry. In such a short time, TWICE has already achieved widespread success. Just recently, they have another thing to celebrate about.

According to Allkpop, the girl group's music video for the song 'Cheer Up' had just surpassed 100 million views on YouTube! Amazing, right? With this achievement, Cheer Up becomes the group's second music video to reach 100 million views following 'Like Ooh-Aah' reaching the same achievement a few days ago. Since Cheer Up was released back in April, it is now the fastest k-pop video to reach 100 million views and TWICE is also now the first k-pop girl group since Girls' Generation to have more than one k-pop video to reach 100 million hits. The girls took to Twitter to announce their latest achievement.

TWICE, with all the success that they have achieved, is now being called the next Girls' Generation.

The nine-member group first debuted in October last year and they were formed through a reality competition show called Sixteen which aired on Mnet. According to JYP, TWICE is the upgraded version of Wonder Girls and Miss A, also very successful female idol groups from JYP Entertainment.

JYP had been planning to launch a girl group since 2013. However, unfortunate circumstances further pushed the plan to a later date. Luckily though, it turns out that TWICE was definitely worth the wait seeing as they had immediately conquered the k-pop stage.

The group had recently made a comeback and their single 'TT' had once again dominated the charts. Not only that, TWICE has also broken several records with their comeback single. It hasn't been a month since TT was released but it already has 50 million plus views on YouTube.

In other news, TWICE had just bagged Best Artist award in the recently concluded Asia Artist Awards and according to a report published by Yibada, the group was joined by Park Shin Hye, Park Hae Jin and BTS who also received the award on that same event.

Congratulations to TWICE!
