Red Velvet’s member Wendy collaborates with Ricky Martin in his new single ‘Vente Pa'ca’
Ricky Martin and Red Velvet’s Wendy is collaborating in his new single “Vente Pa'ca” which to be released early this week. Sony Music Entertainlent will release the new single in English version following a Spanish hits in collaboration with SM Entertainment.
SM Entertainment made the official announcement about the collaboration between Wendy and Martin on Friday, Dec. 23. They collaborated in the English version of the single titled “Vente Pa'ca” which means “Coming Back Home.” While for the Spanish version, Martin sung the song with Colombian singer Maluma.
The Spanish version was a hits airplay then it was released in September this year. It has taken the chart in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay by the storm. It also topped the iTunes chart in 18 countries and 5.6 million streams within its first week.
SM Entertainment and Sony Music expected the English version of the dance-reggae song will become hits as well. Meanwhile the agency has also encouraged Wendy to collaborate with many musicians through their digital channel SM STATION as reported by Yonhap News Agency. Last March, Wendy made a duet with Korean-American singer Eric Nam in a single titled “Spring Love.” For this Christmas season, Wendy has also released a collaboration with pianist Moon Jung-Jae and Nile Lee in a Christmas carol "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" on Friday
Wendy debuted in 2014 with Red Velvet after she was recruited from the SM Global Audition in Canada two years earlier. She lived in Canada since she was in the elementary school with her sister to study. Red Velvet released their debut single “Happines” in 2014 and gained more than 2 million views on YouTune within 24 hours.
Red Velvet then released their first album “The Red” in September 2015 and reached the top position in the Ga-On weekly chart. Their latest EP “Russian Roulette” was released last September 2016.
