Former Sech Kies member Ko Ji-Yong is now a father and the new member superman dad in the KBS variety show “Return of Superman” with his son Seung-Jae.

Ko is one of the member of the first generation idol boy group Sech Kies. The group reached the peak of their populariy during the late 1990’s. Among the six members, he is the only one who left the entertainment industry completely after the disbandment of the group in 2000.

The 36-year old studied abroad and return to Korea to start a business. He met his wife Heo Yang-Lim and married in 2013. In the interview as reported by Seoul Daily News, Heo said that she didn’t know the man during their date, that Ko was a member of a famous idol group in 1990’s. She just knew that Ko is a businessman who runs his own business.

Their son Seung-Jae was born on Oct. 6, 2014 and they continue to live their life until Sech Kies decided to reunite two years later. Ko was contacted as the other five members have stated their commitment to return to the spotlight, following their fellow first generation idol g.o.d. who launched reunion album and concert in 2014 to celebrate their 15 years of career.

Nevertheless, Ko was unable to commit to return to music with Sech Kies due to his tight schedule managing his business. Therefore, the to-day reunion concert which was held at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena on Sept. 10 and 11 was commenced without him.

In order to appease his old fans, Ko decided to agree to join the “Return of Superman” as a new member. He will be left alone with his son for 48 hours as the crew filmed their daily activities. He first appeared in the Episode 163 and introduced in the official release from KBS.
