2NE1 Bids Farewell With Release Of Their Final Song ‘Goodbye’

The long wait is finally over now that 2NE1 has released their latest and final song titled "Goodbye." For all the devoted Black Jacks and 2NE1 fans out there who have been anticipating the release of Goodbye, well, better prepare your tissues because it's going to be one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride.

2NE1's disbandment was first announced on the Nov. 26, just after Thanksgiving. Now, you can only imagine the grief and shock 2NE1 fans must've experienced if you hadn't experienced it yourself. Thankfully though, the group along with their label, YG Entertainment, decided that they at least owe it to their fans to release one final song, a parting gift as one may call it. On Jan. 5, Allkpop reported that 2NE1 would be releasing a song titled "Goodbye" to the bittersweet pleasure of millions of fans.

On Jan. 21, they did just that. "Goodbye" is definitely a fitting parting song between 2NE1 and their Black Jack fans. The song in itself is a bit toned down, reminiscent of their song "It Hurts," and is shot in black and white providing a good emotional background. The song only features three of the former 2NE1 members particularly CL, Park Bom and Sandara Park as they sing out their pleas and their regrets along with a promise of a new beginning while clips from their seven years together played in the background. Minzy was unable to partake in the song but clips of her were included in the music video. According to Koreaboo, Minzy had only learned about the song when it was reported in the news and on social media.

2NE1's disbandment came in quite as a shock to everyone as they seemed like a group that is hard to put down. Among 2NE1's most popular songs are "I Am The Best," "I Don't Care," "Fire," "Ugly," and "Come Back Home." The group is known for their empowering and upbeat songs mashing several genres together such as hip hop, reggae and electronic dance music. With their worldwide success, 2NE1 is credited as one of the groups that had introduced k-pop to the international scene.
