Billboard Lists K-Pop Artists You Need To Watch in 2017

With the interest in K-Pop getting even bigger each year, it's no wonder that so many idol groups debut yearly, hoping to be the next big thing in the scene. This year, there are some groups that may be on their way to being the next group to make it big, not just in Korea, but all over the world.

Billboard lists five artists that it believes has what it takes to 'make a splash' in 2017. These are based not only on what the groups have released so far, but also on how fans are eagerly waiting for new releases of said groups, and the number of views their YouTube videos got.

First on the list is Pristin. Under Pledis Entertainment, this girl group has 10 members, which includes Nayoung and Jieqiong, who are also part of I.O.I, their prize for being top contestants in the show "Produce 101." Like their label mate Seventeen, Pristin also composes and choreographs all their songs.

Next on the list is I, who may be a solo artist, but is versatile enough to break through the girl group market. Coming from WM Entertainment, I can go from fierce to sweet depending on what is needed. Her fierce vocals and dance talent will surely be a hit this year.

For those who are looking for something different, they can check out Hoody, who boasts of being the first female artist signed by AOMG. Her style is different from the usual sugary sweet pop coming from the girl groups. Fans should get ready to hear soulful R&B mixed with some electropop.

Woollim Boys and Girls is the next on the list. Woollim Entertainment is behind acts such as Lovelyz and INFINITE, and the word is, they might be lauching not just one but two acts from their pool of trainees this year. Despite being a small company, the acts they have debuted have gone to become very successful, so it is to be expected that whoever Woollim Entertainment will bring out will make a splash.

Finally, there is K.A.R.D., a co-ed band. Their song "Oh NaNa" has become a top-viewed in the US and all over the world, which spells that their debut, which will be in the middle of 2017, might mean that there finally might be a successful co-ed K-pop group to debut in the scene.
