2NE1 fans rejoice because Minzy has officially announced that she will be releasing an album this year, and while it isn't official yet, Park Bom too had confirmed her plans of releasing an album. Their iconic group may be over but that doesn't mean their careers are too.

According to Koreaboo, former 2NE1 Minzy is reported to be making a comeback this 2017 and she herself has confirmed this. On Jan. 27, Minzy hosted a V-live broadcast wherein she announced that she will be releasing an album on the first half of 2017 while also greeting everyone a happy new year. Rumors about the young idol's comeback first started in 2016 when she began uploading photos on Instagram with the award winning producer Steve Barakatt who has been known to have worked with several notable k-pop stars such as EXO's Chen, Super Junior's Yesung and Sunny of Girls' Generation.

Minzy had earlier departed from 2NE1 when their contract with YG expired early in 2016. She then went on to sign with a new label, The Music Works. Apart from the promised album, Minzy will also be appearing more on television beginning with the second season of the show "Unnie's Slam Dunk."

Meanwhile, another former 2NE1 member may also be releasing an album this 2017. As reported by Allkpop, Park took to Twitter to ask the OuijaKnowsAll account if she would be releasing her solo album this year and while she may have already deleted the tweet, what happens on the Internet, stays on the Internet. A fan then asked her if she would be releasing an album wherein she replied with a straight "Yes I do." Park is currently an independent artist as she is yet to sign to a label but that doesn't mean she can't release new music.

2016 may be the year that 2NE1 disbanded but they can surely make 2017 the year they dominated their solo careers.
