'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God' Actor Gong Yoo Is Still Receiving Offers Around World After its Seris 'Goblin' Ends
It seems Gong Yoo popularity won't die easily. As a matter of fact, the "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" actor has reported still receiving more offers to different countries (as in globally).
The end of his tVN drama series "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" or commonly known as "Goblin" doesn't mean end also of his popularity. On Feb. 10, agencies outside of Korea as well as Gong Yoo's agency, Management Soop, revealed that the actor is still receiving more invitations to hold fan meetings in 15 different countries, according to Soompi.
The 15 countries include Japan, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Australia, and Singapore. Due to the high demand for the actor, Gong Yoo has been offered highest perks and compensation.
This could not be surprising to some people. The South Korean actor has become more popular globally because he starred in 2016 movie "Train to Busan." This movie got positive reviews and it got 96% score at Rotten Tomatoes. This movie also garnered $87.5 million at the box office, with $9 million budget.
"Train to Busan" has performed well in Korea other Asian countries. As a matter of fact, it became number one box office hit in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, France, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
After this movie, he has become an apple of the eye of many viewers and online users when he starred in "Goblin." Gong Yoo is ranked after other big names such as Yoo Ah In, Park Bo Gum, and Song Joong Ki.
Amid of agencies fighting for winning Gong Yoo, the actor has not yet given a reply. The reason could be his busy schedule with filming for commercials and projects that are scheduled every day until mid-March. Apparently, he has plenty of work and he needs to complete his appointments.
Speaking of "Goblin," SBS revealed the actual location where tvN filmed the restaurant scene of its series "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God." On Tuesday, Feb. 14 (Valentine's day), the restaurant in the series was revealed at "Late Night Entertainment News."
In the story, the said restaurant is located in Quebec, Canada. But the truth is, it is located in Cafe Zino, a cafe that is located in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. To prove it, here's the image, which was posted on Instagram.
