Song Hye Kyo recently shared an Instagram photo of the cast and crew of "Descendants of the Sun." They all gathered to celebrate the first anniversary of the hit drama since its premiere.

"Thank you for the 1 Year Anniversary of Descendants of the Sun," Hye Kyo wrote as a caption. "Descendants of the Sun" originally aired on KBS2 from Feb. 24 to April 14 last year.

Aside from celebrating the first anniversary of DOTS, the cast and crew also acknowledged Song Joong Ki's award as the best actor for the said drama at the 29th Korea PD Awards. According to Koreaboo, the cast and crew gathered for a special reunion to celebrate "Descendants of the Sun's" anniversary.

"Descendants of the Sun" received numerous awards and nominations. It garnered outstanding ratings that KBS decided to give fans a second season. KBS drama department head Jung Sung Ho told Soompi that they are planning to launch it in 2017.

At the time of the interview, the department head said they have to go through negotiations with the cast and production team first. He said KBS will stive to produce a second season of DOTS to meet the expectations of viewers. The network also wanted to repay the viewers for their support.

Now the burning question is who will star in the follow-up? Rumor has it that Park Bo Gum will be joining the cast. The "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" actor is reportedly going to work with Song Joong Ki for the upcoming drama, MStars News reported.

Ever since KBS confirmed that they are doing a sophomore season of DOTS, lots of speculations already came out. One of these is the possibility that it will focus on the married life of the characters. There were also reports that the entire cast will be replaced.
