Trial date set for J.Y. Park and Kim Shinil

Kim Shinil will be taking producer J.Y. Park to court over the accustation of song plagiarizing. 

It has been annoucned on the 19th that the final trial will be held on February 8th. Seoul's Central District Court will the setting where matters between J.Y. Park and Kim Shinil will be resolved. 

There are two songs in question, Ash's "To My Man" from 2005, and "Someday" which on the soundtrack to the hit series 'Dream High.'

Last July, Kim filed a civil lawsuit against Park, which he requested nearly $97,000, but none of the plagiarism matters in question have been resolved as of yet. 

Scheduling issues have prevented the case from progressing as both parties have adjusted the court date on numerous occasions. Kim would like to see that the song be registered under his name as well, but J.Y. Park is denying the charges completely. 

J.Y. Park's representatives made a statement saying, "The four lines in the chorus accused of plagiarism by Kim Shinil is actually more similar to Kirk Franklin's song "Hosanna" that was released in 2002."
