'Reply 1997' Star Seo In Guk Discharged From Military 4 Days After Enlistment

It was just last week when "Reply 1997" star Seo In Guk was bidding goodbye to his fans for his mandatory military enlistment that he has now been released due to medical reasons. The singer-actor was discharged after only four days in the military.

It can be recalled last week that Seo In Guk left a heartfelt message to his fans through his Instagram as he posted a photo of himself sporting a buzz cut, reported SBS Pop Asia. In his message, he told his fans to stay happy and healthy and wait for him to come out of the military in two year's time. "I will protect our country well and come back more mature. I love you," he promised.

According to All Kpop, the actor also left his fans with a self-made VCR clip entitled "One Day Before Enlistment". Ironically, the video came out on the same day he was discharged in the afternoon. He also released his MV for his self-composed song "Better Together" as a gift for his fans before he quietly reported to Yeoncheon County's 5th division in Gyeonggi Province for a five-week basic training.

However, in a report by Soompi, Jellyfish Entertainment has issued a statement that the actor has been released because of a fractured ankle. According to the statement, Seo In Guk was discharged last Friday after it was found that he has suffered from "an osteochondral lesion -injury or small fracture of the cartilage surface" on his left knee.

Seo In Guk passed his physical examination last year when he was drafted in the military. However, his injuries were only discovered when he started his training. According to Jellyfish, the actor still wants to undergo another physical examination at the regional Military Manpower Administration because he wants to continue his military service.
