Lee Min Ho Enlistment: Lee Min Ho To Start Mandatory Service on May 12, Will Work As Social Worker in Gangnam Due to Injury

Lee Min Ho has finally released his enlistment date for the military after months of waiting. His agency MYM Entertainment, confirmed that the Legend of the Blue Sea actor will be enlisting for mandatory service on May 12.

"The enlistment date for Lee Min Ho was confirmed today," Lee Min Ho's agency, MYM Entertainement said. "It is true that he will be starting his military service on May 12 in Gangnam as a social service worker."

According to Koreboo, unlike other enlisted celebrities, he will not be reporting for military training right away  because of injuries he sustained from a car accident in 2006. It can be recalled that Lee Min Ho , along with his good friend and fellow actor Jung Il Woo figured in a serious car accident in 2006 in which the Legend of the Blue Sea star had to undergo surgery to insert a metal rod inserted into his leg. The accident also resulted in a leg fracture for the actor.

It was previously reported that Lee Min Ho wanted to work on another project before enlisting for the military and opened up about his feelings about enlisting. He said that while he understands his duties as a citizen, he was still sad about parting ways with his loved ones and his fans. He said that it was a natural feeling to have.

Lee Min Ho's enlistment comes at the heels of a government order that all celebrity enlistments will all be handled by the Military Manpower Administration. It can be recalled that the government earlier had to deal with the issue of delayed enlistments of entertainers because of work commitments, according to a report by Kpopstarz.

The Military Manpower Administration sent a letter early this month to entertainment agencies and labels seeking their cooperation and asking them to furnish MMA with a complete list of artists under their roster. Aside from Lee Min Ho, "My Sassy Girl" star Joo Won also received the letter for his enlistment on May 16. This makes the historical reboot of "My Sassy Girl, which is also slated to air this May,  his last project before enlisting. As for Lee Min Ho, the actor will be seen in the documentary "DMZ, The Wild" in June.
