The family of South Korean semi-trot singer Jang Yoon Jung responded to charges on Thursday that they mismanaged the star's finances.

Jang Yoon Jung's comments came in an episode of the Seoul Broadcasting System program "Healing Camp."

"When I let my parents take care of my money, I gave it to them as if it is not mine," the singer said in Monday's episode of the Korean reality show.

"I am not going to think about what I lost but focus on one day at a time. That is what counts."

Speaking to the tvN program "E News," on Thursday, Jang Yoon Jung's mother and brother sounded off about the semi-trot singer's allegations that they spent her savings of one million dollars, earned over the course of a decade.

"My heart hurts," Jang Yoon Jung's mom said.

"It's a shame that other people know about our family's issues and I wonder why she did that. Why did she backstab her mother who took care of her for 33 years? I'm fine, but why did she do that to her brother [Jang Kyung Young]?"

Jang Yoon Jung's brother says the star's accusations have affected his business.

"My current company took a huge hit [from the scandal]," Jang Kyung Young said.

"Because of the press coverage, the company became a victim and its credibility was questioned. The honest company needs time to regain its image from the tarnished reputation."

He denied having any role in his sister's financial problems.

"I've never caused Jang Yoon Jung any trouble," Jang Kyung Young said.

"Her debt is because she didn't take care of her savings properly. She previously said that she didn't have any problems managing her funds."

 "I lived quietly because I didn't want to be a burden to my sister," he continued.

"But it's ridiculous how she brought us down. The situation became like this and I can't understand how she can just leave it be. She wasn't like this. I'm worried that our relationship looks strained."

Jang Yoon Jung, who is currently living with her father according to the website Soompi, says her dad wasn't a part of her family's gross financial mismanagement.

"I checked my balance one day and saw that I didn't have any money," she told the producer of "Healing Camp" in a pre-interview.

"In fact, my account was in the negative and I had 1 billion won [a million US dollars] in debt," Jang Yoon Jung recalled of the moment she realized she was broke.

"My dad had a stroke because of this."
