Bad Teacher to CBS: the popular movie 'Bad Teacher' starring Cameron Diaz will be a single-camera comedy series, CBS ordered 13 episodes for the initial season. 

In 2011, Cameron Diaz played a nasty role in the Bad Teacher. In 2013, Fringe star Ari Graynor would play the same role, except it's on TV. The giant tv network announced Wednesday Bad Teacher to CBS, as it had ordered the single-camera comedy into a 13 episode series.

In the movie, Diaz starred as Meredith Davis, the grumpy and nasty woman who doesn't want to work and only wants to enjoy her life. For this to happen, she decides to find a man who would settle her financial problems for her while she focus on more important things like shopping and partying. Hoping to get married to her wealthy boyfriend, she quits her job as a teacher only to get dumped by the man. She ends up taking her job back to pay her bills. But this doesn't stop her from partying and having a good time. She spends hours at clubs hoping to find another man who would want to marry her causing her to be the worst teacher who sleeps during her classes. She finds interest on a new teacher, played by Justin Timberlake, after knowing him to come from a wealthy family. The brawl happens after finding a co-teacher who also has an interest with the same man.

According to CBS, Graynor would have the same character as Diaz, except she was already married and was left penniless by her wealthy husband. She becomes a teacher to find a new man to marry.

Joining Graynor in the Bad Teacher to CBS series is Sex and the City star Kristin Davis. She will play the role of Ginny, Meredith's arch rival. Also joining the two are David Alan Grier, Ryan Hansen and Sara Gilbert.

The new comedy's executive producers include Hilary Winston, Lee Eisenberg, Michael Lasker, Sam Hansen, Jimmy Miller and Gene Stupnitsky.

There are no air dates set yet but we can expect the comedy to run midseason of 2013 to 2014.
