EXO's Xiumin is heading for the military on May 7. And as a parting gift for his fans, he is set to unveil his first official solo single two days after.

The track titled "You" will be part of SM Station 3, a digital musical venture of his agency, SM Entertainment.

As part of the song's promotion, SM Station dropped a video with Xiumin personally inviting his following to look forward to his newest musical offering. "You are curious about what kind of song it is, right? Please look forward to it and give the song lots of love," the 27-year-old singer-actor remarked.

In the concept photos released, Xiumin is donning casual clothes, comfortably scribbling down something on his notebook. Fans are expecting that his song "You" will be peppered with tug-at-your-heartstring lines they can listen to over and over while waiting for his comeback.

Though the EXO member has previously released "You Are The One" as the theme song of the web drama he starred in, "Falling For Challenge," he has actually never launched an official solo music since he debuted back in 2012.

Besides his highly-anticipated single, Xiumin will also hold his first-ever solo fan meeting on May 4. Called "Xiuweet Time: Xiumin Fan Meeting," the event will take place at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul.

Xiumin has made a name for himself not only as part of EXO but as a member of their group's first official subunit, EXO-CBX.

The trio -- composed of Xiumin, Chen, and Baekhyun - debuted with the release of their EP "Hey Mama!" back in October 2016. They also recorded "For You" as part of the soundtrack of the drama series, "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo."

In May of last year, they released their first Japanese studio album called "Magic," following a series of successful shows in key cities in the country. Just recently, EXO-CBX stunned Japanese fans through the special edition of their concert tour, "Magical Circus."

Apart from singing, he also forayed into acting. In 2016, he had a supporting role in the film, "Seondal: The Man Who Sells The River."
