IZ*ONE's "Buenos Aires" and MONSTA X's "Alligator" Earn Gold Certifications in Japan

IZ*ONE and MONSTA X received their gold certifications with their Japanese singles!

The gold certification is only given to albums and singles that exceeded 100,000 copies in progressive net shipments.

So far, MONSTA X has now four tracks that achieved gold certifications in Japan, including "Shoot Out," "Spotlight," and "Livin' It Up," while IZ*ONE's Japanese debut song entitled "Suki to Iwasetai" previously got the platinum certification.

"Buenos Aires" is IZ*ONE's second Japanese single, which was released on June 26, 2019. Aside from being certified gold, IZ*ONE ranked first in Oricon's weekly ranking with this track, having been able to sell 215,760 copies before July ends. Also, upon its release, the song was in first place on Oricon's daily singles chart for June 25 with estimated sales of 192,749 units.

In addition to this, the single took the top spot on Oricon's weekly singles chart for two days. Besides that, the song also peaked at number one on Billboard Japan Hot 100 Top 10, for the week dated June 24 to 30, with 321,999 copies sold.

The girls just had their Japanese debut on January 20 this year, and they have been dominating charts already. Meanwhile, the group has recently released their second extended play, titled "Heart*Iz," with its lead single "Violeta."

MONSTA X's "Alligator," on the other hand, was launched on June 12 this year. "Alligator" is the group's sixth Japanese single. After being released, the song eventually entered Oricon's daily singles chart at number two with a total of 81,508 sales. Apart from "Alligator," MONSTA X's first Japanese song "Hero" also debuted at second place on Oricon's weekly single chart and on Billboard Japan's weekly charts, and first place on Tower Records' table.

Furthermore, MONSTA X's second Japanese track "Beautiful" was also included on Oricon's daily chart, being at number one. The boys' third Japanese single topped Oricon's daily chart, being able to sell 47,304 copies in its first day. Not only the group's singles conquered the charts, but also their first Japanese album called "Piece."

"Piece" grabbed the top spot on Tower Records' chart all store, third place on Oricon's weekly album and Billboard Japan's weekly table.

MONSTA X has just released a new English song called "Who Do U Love?" with Epic Records, which features foreign artist French Montana. It was launched on June 14.
