MOMOLAND's Yeonwoo Recovering from Panic Disorder, Agency Reveals

On Monday, August 19, the three-year-old girl group's company MLD Entertainment finally released a statement regarding her condition.

The full statement reads:

"This is MLD Entertainment.

Here is our official statement regarding our agency artist, MOMOLAND's Yeonwoo.

Recently, Yeonwoo has been consistently receiving treatment and is overcoming her panic disorder ahead of filming for tvN's 'Cheap Cheonlima Mart.'

Please support her. Thank you."

Around June this year, Merry's (MOMOLAND's fanbase name) were bewildered after a rumor claiming that Yeonwoo will withdraw from the group sprung up. This most probably surfaced due to her not partaking in her group's schedules for one month. The agency eventually denied the gossip and stated that she was gearing up for a forthcoming drama, Cheap Cheonlima Mart, where she will portray the character of Kwon Young Goo's (played by Park Ho San) daughter named Kwon Ji Na. According to previous reports, the series will premiere on September 20.

"The rumors of MOMOLAND's Yeonwoo leaving the group are completely untrue. The reason why Yeonwoo has not been participating in recent schedules is that she is filming her drama. With regards to the performance in Chile on June 28, Yeonwoo did not participate due to health reasons, as stated in a previous notice," stated the agency.

Yeonwoo herself penned a personal elucidation on MOMOLAND's fancafe to reach out to fans.

Her full letter reads:

"Merry's, you were all surprised by those sudden rumors, right? I was surprised too, but I thought that Merry's would be shocked and hurt, so that's why I'm writing this post.

There was an article a while ago about me being in talks for a drama, but you were all worried because I wasn't very active since then, huh? I couldn't talk about my schedule so recklessly, so I was silently making preparations in order to show a good image of myself. As that time grew longer, however, I think that created a great misunderstanding to Merry's and the public.

The social media posts I'd share to update you all [on my life], and the ones you're all curious about, are pictures I took from when I'd occasionally visit my friends who appeared in plays or musicals. As for my friend's birthday party, I had notified my agency but I wasn't feeling well that day, so I sat with my manager and left after giving [the friend] their present.

I'm sure everyone was incredibly worried, but until now, and in the present, and far into the future, I'll remain as a precious member of MOMOLAND. I'm currently staying physically fit and practicing hard in order to meet Merry's in a healthy, stable condition, so please wait just a little bit longer."
