The wait is over! X1 -- the latest project boy band created by the survival reality show Produce X 101 -- has finally debuted as they dropped their much-anticipated song, “Flash.”
The group is composed of Kang Min Hee, Cha Jun Jo, Nam Do Hyon, Lee Han Gyul, Son Dong Pyo, Cho Seung Youn, Song Hyeong Jun, Han Seung Woo, Kim Woo Seok, Kim Yo Han, and Lee Eun Sang.
In the upbeat electro-pop track released on August 27, the gents show off their musical talent and with the song’s accompanying music video, their sleek dance moves as well.
Meant to introduce the boy band’s artistry, the video is also heavy with close up shots of each member to help the audience to familiarize with them.
“Flash” is taken from first-ever mini-album called “Emergency: Quantum Leap.” The effort contains five more tracks including “U Got It,” “Move,” “Stand Up,” “Like Always,” and “I’m Here For You.”
Showing the rookie group’s fan-base strength, the hashtags #X1_FLASH and #X1_Debut trended worldwide on Twitter.
Known as One It, their fan club poured out messages of support for their hotly-anticipated debut.
One user with handle @dailyhangyul shared, “Look at X1 doing so well both in digital and physical. I’m in tears. They deserve all of these.”
On Hanteo, X1 became the top-selling rookie group in terms of 1st-week sales of debut albums for 2019. They ranked No. 1 on the other hand on the same platform’s highest 1st-day sales for the year.
Songs from their album further charted both on Genie and Bugs, with the lead single “Flash” ranking at No. 8 and No. 2, respectively.
Ahead of their debut, X1 has given an exclusive glimpse at their preparations through their reality show “X1 Flash,” which premiered on August 22.
According to the production staff, the series “shows the most honest and real emotions the members have.”
“We hope fans find comfort and hope, and ultimately relate with the members as they overcome struggles as they gear up for the debut,” the statement further remarked.
X1 members were the top contenders of Mnet’s “Produce X 101.” Compared with previous project groups the show has produced, this boy band has a five-year contract with them.
