Girl group vocalists got competitive in the newest teaser for "V-1"!

"V-1" is a survival show that will pick out the best 'Vocal Queen' among the girl group members in Korea. The "V" in the title suggests "Vocalist," and "1" is for "No. 1."

The teaser begins with the participants sharing their thoughts about their goal in the competition. They commented, "I will crush them," "I really want to make it to the finals," "I am confident. My objective is always to end up being in the first place," "I didn't care who came," and "I will absolutely be in the first place."

The clip then presents a few of the contestants giving their best as they hit high notes and explosively belt out their chosen songs. The female idols display their persistent resolution to win as they state, "I want to make her cry," "Does she really want to take on me?" and "I think of her as my opponent." The video ended with Choi Yoojung shedding tears, which make the viewers curious as to what might be the reason for her tears.

In the previous teaser for "V-1," through voiceovers the artists remarked such as, "This is a chance I have dreamt of as a singer," "I promise to be first place," "There haven't been opportunities to perform," and "I want to grab this chance to showcase my voice." The girls are then shown singing high notes, and the audience quickly cast their votes after the performances to determine the winner of each round.

Last June, tvN is reported to be launching a new pilot program called "V-1" and was recruiting girl group vocalists who would join the show. The candidates for "V-1" are members from DIA, Weki Meki, Cosmic Girls, EVERGLOW, HashTag, Z-Girls, SONAMOO, Venus, APRIL, Cherry Bullet, GWSN, Gugudan, Dream Catcher, and Jigu.

The 12 aspirants who will compete in the show to win the title of best vocalist were chosen through online voting, which took place last July. The public was allowed to vote for up to five singers who will proceed to the contest, concluding to the mentioned artists above.

"V-1" is set to premiere on September 13 at 6 pm. KST as a Chuseok holiday special.
