"But we couldn't come up to an agreement; therefore, we have decided to disband the group." X1 member agencies, on January 6, have released their official statement following X1 members' future activities, and after deliberation, they have decided to end the group. 

It was a sad ending for the group, following their debut five months ago, the group created their successful debut after being produced through MNET's music show, "Produce 101". They were topping the world wide's chart and has been widely accepted by the international market, not until the manipulation of the ranking for the show backfired, making the group's activities to be put on hold.

Play M Entertainment, Yuehua Entertainment, TOP Entertainment, DSP Entertainment, MBK Entertainment, Woolim Entertainment, OUI Entertainment, Starship Entertainment, and Brand New Music has no choice but to disband the group. 

The agency representatives have gathered in the center of Seoul this afternoon, and they said, "In principle, we agreed with the X1 members for the group's disbandment."

Furthermore, it has also been stated by an official present in the conference that the opinions were divided. However, it has ended up that way due to not being able to come up with a unanimous decision. 

Last year, articles and reports regarding the strange pattern of the member ranking starting from the 1st Season of Produce series were released. As the controversy grew bigger, X1 and I*ZONE, who was currently promoting during that time for their respective comebacks, were discontinued. 

The members had already signed a 5-year contract for the group, though due to the manipulation of ranking, the group was not able to promote as a group for the past three months. 

However, recently, In December 2019, it has been officially stated that X1 will be coming back this year, saying, "Members have done nothing wrong." ,and announced that the group could continue their activities this 2020.

"X1 will continue to do their best to act as soon as possible. We will give up all the profits of MNET in the future. We also opened the possibility of resuming X1's activities." However, the unfortunate news has been released on this day. 

It was noted that the Produce series wasn't only the music shows that were manipulated but as well as other affiliate shows, including Idol show, and this affects the company negatively, making them experience a tremendous loss. 

Although, SWING Entertainment, which was the current agency of the whole group, hasn't released any official statement supporting the announcement of the individual members' agencies, which has already decided together with MNET.

Netizens and fans can't believe this treatment to the group who have done so much throughout the show. From waking up early in the morning, practicing until their bodies were sore and fell, X1 lives weren't comfortable as it is. 

The members of the group, Han Seunhwoo, Cho Seungyoun, Kim Wooseok, Kim Yohan, Lee Hangyul, Cha Junho, Son Dongpyo, Kang Minhee, Lee Eun-sang, Song Hyeongjun, Nam Do Hyun have their first album through "Quantum Leap" Which was a half-million best seller.
