WHAT TEAM?

No, not the Wildcats – we’re talking about 1TEAM, the high-energy, multifaceted boygroup that made their way to Brooklyn on March 8 for the New York stop of their "Hello! Just One" US Tour. The tour was produced by MyMusicTaste in collaboration with Studio PAV, and with the help of these companies, 1TEAM was able to greet Team Ones across the nation.

We’ve been jamming nonstop out to “Make This,” 1TEAM’s latest release, for the last few months. Now, we finally got the chance to see 1TEAM perform the hit live and make this night one to remember for all Team Ones – read on for all the details!

– Cause we about to make this so hot break 따윈 없어

1TEAM kicked off the night with “Make This,” starting off with their charismatic, deep house beats. They followed up with the swag-filled “Ice in the Cup,” with everyone chanting along to the iconic, raunchy line: “Excuse me, who’s this lady? why she sittin’ on me – um, wait, let her do what she want!” They made the stage so hot, especially in their sleek, dark outfits.

– Cause we about to make 1TEAM feel welcomed!

With their first two songs, the excitement and energy was through the roof. The boys greeted their New York fans with a cute segment of their New York Top Five!

New York Top Five (with our top five favorite boys):
5. Jehyun shared his fascination with New York’s Times Square – “There are so many boards in Times Square, and we wish that one day, we can be up there.”
4. BC cutely posed with the picture projected of the State of Liberty, though he wants to take a picture with the real one.
3. Junghoon wants to visit Yankee Stadium and see a Yankee’s game with fellow baseball buff Rubin.
2. Jinwoo really likes to eat food, as all Team Ones know. He wants to try the authentic New York Shake Shack burger! “If we get a chance, we should all go together,” he cutely quipped with the audience.
1. Prior to the show, Team Ones got to vote on the song they wanted 1TEAM to sing the most; Lady GaGa’s Pokerface won! Rubin invited Team Ones to sing along with him.

– Cause we about to make us sing along to every word!

1TEAM, immersing themselves in American culture, dived in a little deeper with performances of Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” and Jeremy Zucker’s “comethru.” The whole venue sang along to, “Can you come through?” And yes, our favorite boys did come through. 1TEAM even added their own flavor to the songs with raps by BC and Junghoon

The charisma didn’t end with these raps; after a VCR of their tour preparations and a quick outfit change into bright white and red boyfriend fits, 1TEAM re-entered the stage for “Countdown.” The energy was electric as fans rapped along to every word of Junghoon’s rapidfire verses.

Over the course of the night, 1TEAM explored so many different genres: sweet and lovely with “Bout U” and Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower,” to everyone’s summery favorites, “Rolling Rolling” and “Vibe.” Even though they’re just one team, it feels like they have infinitely many sides – every single song, every single vibe, felt like it was made just for them, and Team Ones dutifully rapped, sang, and did the fanchants to all of it.

– Cause we about to make us sing, pose, and dance around!

In the middle of the show, 1TEAM surprised fans with a challenge to win polaroids of the boys. Each boy picked out three wristband numbers, one for each ticket tier, and gave that fan a challenge to complete:

BC had fans sing their favorite 1TEAM song. When one fan yelled out, “Ice in the Cup,” 1TEAM got lit on stage, jumping and dancing along.
Jinwoo asked fans to win in a high-note challenge against him. Each fan just screeched, and Jinwoo instantly lost.
Jehyun’s challenge was simple: Make!!! Some!!! Noise!!!!!
Rubin cutely introduced himself to every single fan he chose: “Hi, I’m Rubin!” before asking them to send a huge heart with their arms to 1TEAM.
Junghoon asked fans to clap really hard. Simple, and effective.

1TEAM had challenges for themselves, too, and Jehyun lost – unfortunately for him, but fortunately for the fans who got to witness his flawless punishment: a solo dance of Seventeen’s “Fear.” The sultry track might as well have been a 1TEAM original with the way Jehyun made those moves his own. Jehyun then pulled in Junghoon to dance with him – even though Junghoon didn’t know what he was doing, it was absolutely adorable to watch.

– Cause we about to make us sentimental...

During the concert, 1TEAM brought out their sentimental and nostalgic side in the midst of all the sexy, charismatic, and cute vibes. One year after their debut showcase, 1TEAM wrote down their thoughts, and they read these thoughts to their Team One at the show. Junghoon could still remember how nervous he was their debut showcase, Jehyun “wants to be a proud son to his parents” (which made all of us audibly “awh!”) Jinwoo expressed his poetic side – “it rains, but my heart is not clouded,” and BC’s letter showed his drive to get back to work and start on the new album. Rubin’s letter reading came after fans cheered for him to take off his jacket and show off his tattoos. Both his tattoos and his letter, which expressed his love for the rain, were very exciting.

These letters don’t stop there – 1TEAM wrote letters to their fans, Team One, and read them aloud. These letters were full of love and gratefulness for their Team One, with hearts and excitement and more “Thank you!’s” than we could ever count. Rubin had our favorite line of the night: “I don’t even want to blink right now, because I can’t see you while I’m blinking, right?” The unending love for their Team Ones was very, very clear – and yes, several tears were shed. By me.

It’s always hard to say goodbye, and even harder when you’ve been waiting so long to see each other in person. At 1TEAM’s ending ments, each member expressed how much happiness and love they got from seeing their Team One in person. “I think I had lots of unforgettable experiences today,” said Junghoon. “It was so much fun, and see you again next time!”

1TEAM closed off the night with “Not Afraid” and an acoustic version of their debut track, “Vibe.” It’s fitting to end the night with the song that started it all, and throughout every step of their journey, they’ve been accompanied by the love and support of their Team Ones.

Thank you to MyMusicTaste, Studio PAV, and Liveworks Company for allowing KpopStarz press access to the show. 1TEAM made the New York stop of their “Hello! Just One” Tour one to remember – but Team Ones made the night happen through MyMusicTaste! Keep wishing, keep making, and keep loving 1TEAM.
