EXO's Chen is now a father!

Today, April 29, Chen and his wife welcomed their first baby to the world, as per the confirmation of SM Entertainment.

The agency said, "It is true that their daughter was born today."

The idol's partner gave birth to a daughter at Marie OB/GYN clinic in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. This is also from an exclusive statement from Financial News.

On January 13, Chen announced that he will be tying the knot with his non-celebrity girlfriend and have also revealed that she was pregnant with their first child. The EXO's main vocalist shared this news through his handwritten letter on LYSN via the official fan club of EXO.

"Hello, this is Chen.

I got to tell my fans something, so I made this letter. So I am very anxious. I don't know how to get going. I decided to be the first to inform my fans that I love so much, so even with my broken phrases, I'm leaving this message.

I've got a woman I would like to be with for the rest of my life.

I was concerned and anxious about what would lead to my announcement and decisions. Still, I chose to let everyone know ahead of time, so my bandmates, the firm, my agency and particularly my fans who are supportive of me wouldn't be shocked by the unexpected news, so I spoke it out to my agency and the members.

A blessing came up to me throughout that time. I was surprised because I could not participate in the commitments I had established with the members and the agency. Still, the blessing gave me confidence and energy. I was thinking about how and when to announce the details, but I didn't want to wait any longer, so now I'm disclosing it carefully to all of you.

I am thankful to my colleagues for their sincere support and congratulating me and to fans for having always showered us with overwhelming affection. I will always be grateful to you all and promise to do my utmost in the place in which I am in.

SM Entertainment also debunked rumors that have circulated in social media, claiming that the pair got married earlier in January and that his partner already gave birth.

Following Chen's self-penned letter to fans, SM Entertainment released an official statement and confirmed this new milestone in Chen's life. The label also didn't share any specifics of the pregnancy to respect her status as a non-celebrity.

In February, SM Entertainment released another statement regarding Chen's status as an EXO member.

The agency said, "Before officially announcing the marriage of member Chen, there was discussion exchanged with the EXO members. As much as the EXO members have all experienced the pain of members leaving, they expressed their intention that they want to continue together as they have until now. The agency also respected this opinion of the members, and there will be no changes in EXO's member [lineup]."
